Taken in the Sloan National Conservation Area, near Las Vegas, as the sun was setting at a time known as the plum hour. This desert landscape detail required a little bit of a hike and climb to capture this fine art image. This photograph captures the beauty and subtle pallet contained in this harsh and unforgiving terrain.
Being an artist is my permission to be authentic in that present moment when everything connects and I snap the shutter. It also allows for an acknowledged shared moment of existence - either between subject and artist and / or artist and viewer. Between June 2020 to 2022 I had a studio/gallery in the Arts Factory in the Arts District downtown Las Vegas. Being there during the height of the pandemic and the shut down was both a blessing and a curse. Blessing because I have shots that I will never (hopefully) be able to take again and curse because of the loss of foot traffic. There is a creative energy there in the Arts District that is electric and pervasive and I'm glad to have been in the center of that for those two years. And those...
